Actor /writer and resident “Ghostbuster” Harold Ramis has died from complications arising from vasculitis (Autoimmune disease) after an infection.

He was only 69

Harold was mostly known as ‘Egon Spengler’ from the movie ‘Ghostbusters ‘ but was also in a slather of other 80s/90s films which included ‘Stripes’, ‘National Lampoons Vacation’ (the voice of Marty Moose), & ‘Groundhog Day’.

He also wrote/co-wrote a string of 80s/90s movies like ‘Meatballs’,  ‘Caddyshack’, ‘Ghostbusters’ & ‘Armed and Dangerous’ to name a few.

STEFAN DENNIS – DONT IT MAKE YOU FEEL GOOD (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back….. I know him as Paul Robinson from the TV soap ‘Neighbours’.

To everyone else he is ‘Stefan Dennis’, actor and….Singer.
He had a small hit with this little ditty called ‘Don’t it make you feel good’ which made it to No 16 in the U.K music charts back in 1989.

Is it me or does Stefan look a little like ‘The Hoff’ (David Hasselhoff)…. Sure looks cool in the leather, Dude…

Judging from the comment to this video, punters either love the song or hated it… You be the judge.

Me = I Love it 🙂

CARLY SIMON – WHY (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back….. Its funny where you hear certain songs.
This song I heard today at my local Target Store at Winmalee, NSW over the loud speakers…
I recognised the tune but it belonged to another song…. A late 80s track by the band “A Tribe Called Quest – Bonita Applebum” (Why Remix)….
I didn’t know about the Carly Simon song but I now know where the ‘Why Remix’ came from…

Now to the feature song…..
This 1982 song from U.S singer / songwriter ‘Carly Simon – Why’ was from the movie soundtrack ‘Soup for One’ and made it to top 10 in the U.K music charts….

I love the opening lyrics –  La di-da, di-da, La di-da, di-da… even I can sing that, so good… also how much fun does the video look, everyone was getting into it, even the waiter.    Enjoy

THE DREAM SEQUENCE – LETS GO (Sounds like the 80s)

Hello and welcome back….. Loving the sounds of this at the moment, ‘The Dream Sequence’ with
their new track ‘Lets Go’
Made from Vintage Synths including Oberheim (bass and upper Arps), Jupiter 8V (Strings) and Linn Drum (80s sound setting). A vintage Yamaha Tape Deck was also used in the recording process.

There are 2 versions of ‘Lets Go’ …. The first is synth driven, robotic voices and sexy guitar sounds in the middle. The video is from the late 80s and features the video game from an Atari Lynx called ‘Xenophobe’

The second version is, a dance number (Heavy dance beat and weird alien sounds in the middle), the video is something else with footage taken from the late 80s U.K dance show ‘The Hitman and Her’, (hosted by Pete Waterman from SAW*) and I think you will agree, the young lady in blue has some serious dance moves… check it out 🙂

BONEY M – GOING BACK WEST (Lost Hit)

Hello and welcome back…. From 1982, comes this awesome song.

German band “Boney M” made it to No 41 in the music charts in Germany with ‘Going back West’
This was the first single with new member ‘Reggie Tsiboe’ on vocals.
Going back West was originally sung by a 1970s Jamaican artist  called ‘Jimmy Cliff’

For me, I heard this song recently on online radio station ‘Radio Polskie – 80s & Italo Disco’, instantly loved the sound of this song, especially the chorus part, such a happy song…. Brilliant
